25/26 Season: We, too, sing America

America turns 250 this year. Our season's name is inspired by Langston Hughes' poem—a declaration of presence, belonging, and the beauty we've contributed to this country's story. We've been here all along, and we're still singing. This year brings four productions across South Florida, and our first touring production to Tulsa, Oklahoma. Soulful Christmas. Sounds of Freedom. Songs of the Diaspora. The Juneteenth Experience. Each one centers stories that deserve to be heard, music that moves us, and a truth that connects us all.

But, we're not just asking you to watch. Throughout the year, our Between The Notes Series—workshops, salons, intimate performances—brings you closer. Closer to the artists, the process, each other. We don't believe in the distance between stage and audience. Art isn't something to witness from far away. It's something to live. These lean-in moments are where belonging happens. Where we build community, not just perform it.

Join us this season. Experience these four productions. Come to a workshop. Show up to a salon. Gather with us—because when we share our stories, we all find ourselves in the song

What does freedom sound like? During the Civil Rights Movement, music was a powerful weapon for change—but those freedom songs had roots stretching back centuries. From spirituals to praise songs, from chants to protests, the sounds of freedom and liberty have evolved over time, yet they remain deeply connected. This February, join us for "Freedom Songs: A Youth Concert Experience," an educational musical production that traces the evolution of protest, praise, and liberation music through the lens of African American creativity and resilience. The performance is powered by the African American Research Library & Cultural Center in Fort Lauderdale, in partnership with Broward County Public Schools. We'll welcome thousands of Broward County students while also offering performances open to all audiences. Experience the journey February 18-21.

Join us March 21st at History Miami Plaza for Sounds of the Diaspora: A Celebration of AfroLatinidad. Experience the vibrant convergence of Black and Latinx musical traditions featuring acclaimed Dominican soprano Dr. Zuly Inirio and an ensemble of South Florida artists performing works by AfroLatinx composers. The concert will be followed by a guided conversation and reception. Throughout March, we're bringing this celebration to communities across the region with workshops and a satellite performance at The Sistrunk Cultural Center.

We, too, sing America—and we will not be silenced. Hued Songs returns with The Juneteenth Experience, closing our season with a bold declaration of Black joy, liberation, and belonging. Kicking off with Florida Emancipation Day events in May at Green Space Miami and Pompano Beach Cultural Arts Center, followed by powerful June performances at the Miami Beach Bandshell and the African American Research Library & Cultural Center. Through song, dance, and spoken word, we reclaim our narratives and celebrate our nation's holiday of freedom—on our terms. All events free and accessible. The experience continues.
